This photo is from Liberty’s first ever baseball game played at Worthington Stadium in April 1979. A stark contrast from the new Liberty Stadium which is scheduled to open this weekend when the Flames host Penn State. The opener is scheduled for Saturday, February 23 at 1pm and there is a doubleheader scheduled to begin on Sunday at 12.
Liberty Stadium will not be 100% finished this weekend, but it will be operational. The final product is supposed to have 2,500 chairbacks with additional grass seating available down each foul line. There is also supposed to be two suites, a club room, and a student patio to name just a few amenities.
