Mike Minter Jr, son of Liberty’s special teams coach and Carolina Panthers standout Mike Minter, has been dismissed from his North Star High School football team. North Star coach Mark Waller said “He didn’t play against Lincoln Southwest, and he was getting ready to play the next week and got in more trouble the night before the Lincoln Northeast game. We just had to let him go. I feel bad. He has tremendous skill and talent, but until he decides to choose well and change, you can only do so much. We hope he stays at North Star and gets his high school diploma.
Minter also reportedly has offers from Kansas, Purdue, Clemson and South Carolina and also said he was considering Alabama, Stanford, Tennessee, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Oregon. Liberty has offered him, but it is not sure how this new development will affect his recruitment at Liberty.
There nothing i dislike more than people trying to get our hopes up about recruits that LU will NEVER get. Minter is a good example. regardless of his off the field issues, SEC schools will still take the chance (I.E. Da’Rick Rogers formally of Tennessee, or Steven Garcia formally of USC) if he has the talent they will take the chance. He is not coming to Liberty.
no worries hes not going anywhere in life as far as a football career is concerned, other than his daddy’s team…. what a waste of such good talent…. I played with him in high school, personally he showed shitty work ethic and no true devotion to the TEAM… he thought he was the best and that was it, too bad someone else couldn’t have gotten that talent that actually would’ve used it…. don’t feel sorry for him one bit!!!
Good points. Would love to see him wind up in a Liberty uniform. If not straight out of HS perhaps as a transfer. I mean the kid’s dad is a coach. Who wouldn’t want to play for their dad?!
