We continue our countdown of top 10 storylines for the 2013 football season with #7 today, Liberty running back Aldreakis Allen’s status.
In our 2013 Offensive preview from December 2012, we said “how far the Flames go in 2013 could rely heavily on how far Allen can carry them.” That was before his suspension on April 2nd stemming from his charges of attempted robbery and malicious wounding. However, no timetable has been given for Allen’s suspension, and he is still listed on Liberty’s roster.
Allen led the Flames last year in rushing with 1,019 yards and 10 rushing touchdowns. The rising senior was set to be the offensive leader for Liberty’s 2013 campaign. Allen was dismissed from the program in July of 2010. After a year away from the team, former Liberty head coach Danny Rocco brought Allen back to the team in 2011.
Is Allen’s career at Liberty over or will he be reinstated?
