Derek Horton has committed to Toman & Liberty
As we reported on twitter over the weekend, Liberty baseball has picked up a commitment from Derek Horton. Horton is a class of 2015 outfielder who ran a 6.71 60-yard dash at Liberty’s camp. He attends Liberty Christian Academy where he was named 1st Team All-Conference as a sophomore and has also been named a top 2015 prospect by Perfect Game. According to MaxPreps, as a sophomore at LCA Horton had a .348 batting average, .457 on-base percentage with 23 hits, 11 RBIs, and 27 runs scored. Horton is also a member of the Richmond Braves organization.
Horton reportedly made his commitment last week while meeting with Liberty head baseball coach Jim Toman.
