Liberty’s 2018 Liberty football schedule, its first as an FBS member, was announced by President Donald Trump during Liberty’s 2017 Commencement Saturday.
The Flames will open the 2018 season on September 1st at home against Old Dominion on September 1. Liberty’s home schedule will also features FBS home games on 9/22 against North Texas, 10/13 against Troy, and 11/24 against New Mexico State.
Remaining home games are against FCS teams Norfolk State (9/15) and Idaho State (10/20).
Liberty will have 6 road trips in 2018, beginning with Army on September 8th. The Flames will also play at New Mexico (9/29), New Mexico State (10/6), UMass (11/3), Virginia (11/10), and Auburn (11/17).
The Liberty and Virginia game is part of a 2-for-1 deal. 11/10/18 & 11/23/19 in Charlottesville and 9/11/27 in Lynchburg.
The Flames will also host Army in 2021, BYU in 2022, and Wake Forest in 2025.
Other games President Trump mentioned with no dates stated are against Wake Forest, Ole Miss, Virginia Tech, Buffalo, Rutgers, and BYU.
