Liberty baseball has picked up a commitment from Kyle Horton on Wednesday. Horton is a class of 2018 shortstop and younger brother of 2015 commit Derek Horton. He’s been profiled by Youth Baseball Magazine as the top SS in the country, was runner-up for National Player of the Year in 2012, made the Travel Ball Select All-American team multiple times, and was part of Liberty Christian Academy’s first ever State Championship as an 8th grader. Horton is also a member of the Richmond Braves organization.
Horton reportedly made his commitment on Wednesday while meeting with Liberty head baseball coach Jim Toman prior to Liberty’s exhibition game with the Ontario Blue Jays.
