On Monday, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell informed all 32 NFL teams that the 2020 NFL Draft would proceed in a fully virtual format.
League and club facilities are set to remain closed indefinitely, to ensure the NFL is in compliance with current regulations due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and therefore clubs were advised to prepare to conduct the draft outside of their facilities.
Every scout, coach, and general manager will be subjected to work from home during the draft in an effort to abide to social distancing guidelines.
The broadcasting plans for the draft have not changed. The NFL remains committed to televise the draft in a completely virtual manner. The draft, originally scheduled to be held in Las Vegas, runs from April 23-25.
In March, the league prohibited teams from conducting pre-draft visits with prospects at club facilities, forcing teams to rely on virtual methods to meet with prospective players.
Liberty wide receiver Antonio Gandy-Golden is expected to be the first Liberty player selected in the NFL Draft since Walt Aikens was drafted in the 4th round by the Miami Dolphins in 2014. Most projections have AGG being picked somewhere between the 2nd and 4th round.
