Troy (4-3): Beat Texas State 31-28

Troy running back Kimani Vidal rushed for 162 yards and 2 touchdowns to lift the Trojans to a close win over Texas State. Troy travels to Coastal Carolina for a Thursday-night showdown in week 9.

Old Dominion (1-6): Lost to Western Kentucky 43-20

WKU quarterback Bailey Zappe threw for 397 yards and 5 touchdowns as the Hilltoppers breezed past ODU.

Syracuse (4-4): BEAT Virginia Tech 41-36

Syracuse used a 3-touchdown 4th quarter to rally past Virginia Tech. Syracuse improved to 4-4, and Tech dropped to 3-4.

Alabama Birmingham (5-3): Lost to Rice 30-24

Fresh off an invitation to the American Athletic Conference, Rice fought its way to a win over UAB and improved to 3-4.

Middle Tennessee (3-4): Beat Connecticut 44-13

Middle Tennessee quarterback Chase Cunningham threw for 4 touchdowns as MTSU breezed past 1-8 UConn.

Louisiana-Monroe (4-3): Beat South Alabama 41-31

ULM continued to build on the momentum earned via a win over Liberty as the Warhawks defeated South Alabama. ULM quarterback Chandler Rogers threw for 369 yards and 4 touchdowns.

Massachusetts (1-6): Lost to Florida State 59-3

UMass was simply no match for the Seminoles in this one. FSU poured on points early and often to hand UMass their sixth loss of the season. UMass faces Liberty next week.

#12 Mississippi (6-1): Beat LSU 31-17

Ole Miss keeps winning. After trailing by a touchdown going into the 2nd quarter, the Rebels reeled off 28 unanswered points to secure a win ahead of a road matchup at Auburn next week.

Louisiana (6-1): Beat Arkansas State 28-27

Louisiana used a tandem of running backs – Chris Smith and Montrell Johnson – to race its way to a close win over 1-6 Arkansas State.

Army (4-3): Lost to #16 Wake Forest 70-56

Army threw an uncharacteristic 3 touchdowns, but the Black Knights fell to undefeated Wake Forest in a shootout Saturday afternoon.
