Core Barnes has decommitted from Liberty, he announced on his personal Twitter account. Barnes is the third commit to make this move over the past week, joining LB Ahmad Walker and DB Wendell McClain.
Barnes is a 6’2″, 190 pound prospect that attends Mundy’s Mill High School in Jonesboro, Georgia and is a 2-star rated prospect. He also had offers from Akron, Coastal Carolina, Kent State, UMass, South Alabama, Navy, and several FCS schools.
In 2019, Barnes had 19 catches for 293 yards and 5 touchdowns while adding 4 rushes for 86 yards and 2 touchdowns. Liberty’s class of 2021 is now down to 17 commitments, including wide receivers Kylen Austin and Gamarion Carter.
