The Liberty Flames baseball team has advanced to the 2024 CUSA Baseball Championship following the conclusion of the regular season. The CUSA Tournament will begin Wednesday, May 22 with four games. All games will be played at J.C. Love Field at Patterson Park in Ruston, Louisiana, the home field of the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs.
Liberty, the #5-seed, opens tournament play in the nightcap Wednesday, facing #4-seed Sam Houston with first pitch scheduled for approximately 8:30 p.m. The Flames swept the Bearkats in a three-game series between the two teams early in conference play in Lynchburg.
Liberty finished the regular season with a 22-32 overall record and 11-13 mark in conference play and enter this week riding a six-game losing streak. Louisiana Tech will be the top seed and the host for the championship after ending the regular season with a 41-15 overall record and 18-6 mark in CUSA action.

The tournament features the top eight teams in the regular season play. The format is two double elimination brackets, with four teams each, with the winners of each bracket meeting in a single elimination championship contest.
In addition to Sam Houston, Liberty’s bracket also features #1-seed Louisiana Tech and #8-seed Middle Tennessee. The other bracket features #2-seed Dallas Baptist, #3-seed Western Kentucky, #6-seed FIU, and #7-seed New Mexico State.
