Losing to Monmouth AND Gardner-Webb in the same season is unacceptable. If something similar happens this season, there will be significant changes made within the football program.
2. No more excuses for not winning Big South auto-bid.
With Coastal out of the Big South, there should be no excuses for not winning the Big South auto-bid. Sure, Charleston Southern is the preseason favorite, but they play in Lynchburg this season. Don’t forget, Liberty was 19-2 all-time against the Bucs prior to losing the last 2 meetings. The Flames should dominate the Big South annually with Stony Brook, and now Coastal Carolina out of the way.
3. Increased expectations from Jeff Barber.
Liberty Athletic Director Jeff Barber is on record saying, “We’ve got to get better than last year.” With Jim Toman out as baseball coach, it has everyone within the athletic department on heightened alert.
