Immediately after the Flames’ 58-17 win over Morehead State, the coaching staff picked up a commitment from Michael Austin Lewis. Lewis is a defensive line prospect from Jonesborough, Tennessee and David Crockett High School. He is a 3 star rated prospect according to 247Sports and Scout.
Lewis pledges to the Flames over numerous FBS offers including Army, Colorado State, Kansas State, UMass, and Navy. Several other schools have shown heavy interest including Memphis, Wake Forest, and Duke. He immediately becomes the highest rated recruit of Liberty’s class of 2018 to this point. He is 6’6″ and 235 pounds.
Lewis is the 9th commitment in the class of 2018, joining two star receivers Sean Queen and JT Wood, 2 star running back Uriah West, receiver Noah Frith, tight end Mason Yost, offensive lineman Jacob Bodden, defensive lineman Emmanuel Cater, and defensive back Marcellous Harris.
