Liberty has picked up a commitment from Class of 2022 prospect Akhori Jones, he announced on his social media accounts Friday afternoon.
Jones is a three-star rated prospect, according to Rivals, from Macon, Georgia where he attends Mount de Sales Academy. He was being recruited as a running back or defensive back, but he will begin his career at Liberty as a safety.
Jones is a 5’11”, 180 pound athlete who also had offers from Air Force, Akron, Army, Buffalo, Coastal Carolina, Kansas State, Kent State, UMass, Minnesota, Navy, Syracuse, and UAB. He took a visit to Syracuse in late June, a week after visiting Liberty.

He becomes the seventh verbal commitment in the Class of 2022 for the Flames, joining wide receivers Josh Dallas and Markel Fortenberry, tight end Teigan Martin, offensive lineman Rene Miller, defensive tackle Bryce Dixon, and defensive end Miyon Conaway.
