Eric Smith has announced his commitment to Liberty, a three-star wide receiver from Richmond, Virginia.

The in-state prospect is a 5’10”, 170 pound athlete that attends Varina High School. His offer list includes Virginia Tech, Maryland, Coastal Carolina, UConn, James Madison, East Carolina, Marshall, Old Dominion, Charlotte, and several others.

Smith had previously announced a top five of Liberty, Virginia Tech, Coastal Carolina, James Madison, and Old Dominion.

He is a three-star rated prospect and 247Sports rates him as the No. 19 prospect in the Class of 2024 in Virginia. As a sophomore in 2021, Smith hauled in 13 passes for 192 yards and a touchdown.

Smith joins an increasingly strong Class of 2024 for the Flames. He is the 12th commitment in the class and the first wide receiver to commit to the Flames so far during this class.
