After spending his first couple seasons making his presence as a kick returner, Hickson now looks to become a more prominent feature at running back. It’s not like he hasn’t carried the ball, as he’s totaled 194 carries for 825 yards and 6 touchdowns, but the coaching staff will surely be looking for more from Frankie as a running back this year. In both of his previous 2 seasons, Hickson has been named to the Big South’s 2nd team all-conference as a kickoff return specialist, and he is expected to be the feature returner in the Flames’ kickoff units again in 2018.
