We’re kicking off a brand new series titled, 30 Players in 30 Days, where we countdown our list of the 30 best current Flames’ football players leading up to kickoff on September 1st against Old Dominion. We start today with Elisha Mitchell.
Mitchell is a 6’3″, 315 pound defensive tackle from Virginia Beach. On a depleted Liberty defensive line in 2017, the true freshman saw playing time in all 11 games including 5 consecutive starts to finish the season. Don’t let his 18 tackles underwhelm you, as Mitchell’s primary responsibility in Liberty’s defense is to clog up the middle and allow others to make tackles. With several newcomers to the defensive line, both highly touted freshmen and JUCO transfers, it remains to be seen how much of an impact Elisha will make in 2018. He could skyrocket up the list by the end of the season, or find himself nowhere near it. We’re betting on the former.
