Since the end of the 2024-25 women’s basketball season, Liberty has seen four players enter the e transfer portal, according to On3. Asia Boone, Emily Howard, Brooke Moore, and Pien Steenbergen have all entered the portal which doesn’t close until April 23.

Boone started all 33 games for Liberty this past season. She was third on the team in scoring at 10.2 points per game while shooting 36.9% from three. Boone, a 5’8″ sophomore guard from San Diego, California, was a two-year starter for the Lady Flames and also earned second team all-conference honors each of the past two seasons. As a true freshman a year ago, Boone was named CUSA Freshman of the Year after knocking down 63 threes on the second, second most all-time among Liberty freshmen.

A 6’5″ redshirt-junior center from Canada, Howard played in seven games for Liberty this season before suffering a season-ending injury. She averaged 7.4 points and 3.6 rebounds per game this past season. In 2023-24, Howard appeared in all 34 games off the bench for the Flames.

Steenbergen played in all 33 games this season for Liberty. She averaged 5.2 points and 3.0 rebounds per game while shooting 36.4% from three. She missed all of 2023-24 due to injury. The 6’1″ redshirt-sophomore forward from the Netherlands played in all 33 games as a freshman in 2022-23, finishing second on the team in three pointers made and three-point field goal percentage.

Moore, a 6’0″, sophomore from Kennesaw, Georgia, played in 32 games for Liberty this season. She averaged 4.8 points and 3.3 rebounds per game while shooting 29.7% from three. Moore played in all 19 games in 2023-24 for the Lady Flames before suffering a season ending injury.

Liberty is coming off a 26-7 season where the Lady Flames won the 2024-25 women’s basketball regular season and tournament title to advance to the program’s 18th NCAA Tournament appearance.
