Liberty will kickoff the 2024 season against Campbell in 44 days as the Flames are looking to make a sixth straight bowl appearance while also hoping to win the Conference USA championship for a second straight season.
Jamey Chadwell enters his second season as Liberty’s head coach and will do so with a lot fewer questions for this year’s team than there were a year ago. Still, many questions remain surrounding the program and fall camp will provide insight into many of these when it gets underway.
Here are our 44 questions for Liberty football entering the 2024 season.
1. Will Liberty be able to successfully defend its 2023 CUSA title?
2. How quickly will all the new pieces on the field gel into a team unit?
3. Will the team overcome the complacency that could naturally creep in from last year’s success?
4. Will Kaidon Salter be able to take a step forward from his success last year and continue to push towards being one of the top quarterbacks, not just in the Group of Five, but in the entire country?
5. Will Quinton Cooley be able to duplicate what he accomplished in 2023 as first year with the program?
6. Will the running back room be able to stay healthy this year, unlike all the injury problems they faced in 2023?
7. Will the defense take a step forward with an additional year under their belt with this coaching staff and some of the returning personnel?
8. Is the defensive line ready to take a step up in its production, particularly with its ability to rush the quarterback?
9. Will this year’s linebacker crew be able to overcome the loss of Tyren Dupree?
10.Are all the new additions at the linebacker position going to provide the team with more depth from this group than we have seen recently?
11. Will Aaron Bedgood’s loss be offset by some of the new additions, including Julian Gray?
12. Will the Flames be able to find the answers needed at receiver, especially due to the loss of CJ Daniels, to help the offense continue to be one of the best in the country?
