While there is a lot of uncertainty surrounding the 2020 college football schedule, Liberty’s incoming freshman class is the best in school history.
Once they’re able to get on the playing field, they will make an impact. Here are five true freshman who could make an instant impact:
Deon Biggins, CB
With the departures of Kei’Trel Clark and Tayvion Land, Liberty has an immediate need at corner. Could Biggins step in and provide an impact as a true freshman? The 3-star product of Horn Lake, Mississippi, was one of the top prospects in the state.
Kendy Charles, DT
Charles may need some time to develop and grow into his body to be ready for FBS play, but he has the talent. Out of Orange Park, Florida, Charles was one of Liberty’s 3-star prospects who signed as part of the 2020 class.
Ahmad Jackson, WR
Jackson was near the top of Liberty’s recruit target board for the 2020 class, and as the Flames look to life after Antonio Gandy-Golden. He chose Liberty over several P5 offers including Boston College, Indiana, and Ole Miss.
Jerome Jolly, Jr., S
Jolly is the only one on this that was part of the program in the spring. He got the valuable benefit of seeing time on the field for 5 practices before the spring session was cut short. Jolly turned heads during his limited time on the field, and he could be counted on to make an immediate impact in the defensive secondary.
Stephen Sings V, DE
According to 247Sports, Sings is the 2nd highest rated recruit to end up at Liberty in school history, trailing only Tayvion Land who has transferred to Norfolk State. Provided he has his academics under control, Sings has the talent to make an impact immediately on the defensive line.
