On the eve of Liberty’s 2022 season opener, head coach Hugh Freeze and the Flames got a boost to the team’s 2023 recruiting class as Donovan Dozier announced his commitment to the school.
Dozier is a 6’4″, 220 pound defensive lineman from Cardinal Gibbons High School in Raleigh, North Carolina, He previously named a top three of Liberty, JMU, and Delaware. He has additional offers from Air Force and numerous FCS schools. Dozier helped lead Cardinal Gibbons to a state championship last season as he racked up 63 tackles, 22 sacks, 18.5 tackles for loss and a forced fumble.
Dozier is the 16th commitment in Liberty’s early 2023 class. He joins fellow defensive linemen who have already pledged to the Flames Ezra Odinjor, JaQuize Buycks, Mamadou Cissokho, and Eliyt Nairne.
