1. “Hopefully, we can have a winning record.”
That was Coach Gill’s statement after consecutive losses to open Big South play. Now, the Flames must beat #4 Coastal Carolina to finish with a winning record for the 10th consecutive season.
2. We’re not as good as we thought we were.
We all came into the season with high expectations, and rightly so, but this team has too many holes from the offensive line to the secondary.
3. Jeremy Peters and Damian King will be fun to watch for the next 3 years.
The true freshmen continue to show improvement, and they dazzled against CSU. Peters had a pick 6 while King led the team in all-purpose yards which doesn’t even take into effect his 44 yard touchdown pass to Darrin Peterson.
4. The offensive line has been the Achilles’ heel to what could have been an explosive offense.
Can it all be blamed on injuries?
5. Woodrum’s guarantee of 4 straight wins, fails.
A disappointing ending to his career.
6. Jamey Chadwell is the Big South Coach of the Year.
What a terrific job he’s done at Charleston Southern with limited resources. The Bucs finish the regular season with a perfect record against FCS opponents.
7. This team will be remembered as a huge underachiever.
Losses to Gardner-Webb, Monmouth, and Charleston Southern all in the same season?
