The Liberty Flames are looking to advance to a third straight NCAA Regional this season as we approach the stretch run. Liberty is currently 28-15 overall and 14-7 in ASUN play, having drawn into a first place tie atop the ASUN East Division standings following a series win at Stetson this past weekend.

Liberty currently has the 34th best odds to win the College World Series and the National Championship, according to Circa Sports. The Flames are being projected into the NCAA Tournament field by both D1 Baseball and Baseball America this week as the ASUN automatic bid.

The Flames are currently being pegged as a 3-seed in the Charlottesville, Virginia Regional by D1Baseball, hosted by No. 14 overall seed Virginia. Other teams in this projected regional include 2-seed Maryland and 4-seed Davidson.

Kennesaw State is currently being projected into the tournament field as an at-large out of the ASUN. The last four teams into the field in this projection are San Diego, Louisiana Tech, Louisiana, and Pittsburgh. The first four out are UTSA, Alabama, Coastal Carolina, and Illinois.

Tennessee is picked as the No. 1 overall seed while the other regional hosts projected by D1Baseball are Oregon State (2), Virginia Tech (3), Oklahoma State (4), Miami (5), Auburn (6), Texas A&M (7), Notre Dame (8), Arkansas (9), Southern Miss (10), Georgia (11), Louisville (12), Oregon (13), Virginia (14), LSU (15), and Gonzaga (16).

In Baseball America‘s projected field this week, Liberty is a No. 2 seed in the Coral Gables, Florida regional where No. 3 overall seed Miami would be the host alongside No. 3 seed Florida and No. 4 seed Long Island. Kennesaw State is also being projected into this tournament field as an at-large, receiving a 3-seed.

In other Regional projections this week, Liberty is being projected into the field by College Baseball Nation and College Sports Madness. Both have the Flames in as a three-seed, one in the Blacksburg Regional and one in a Regional hosted by Oregon. These projections both have Kennesaw State in the projection, as well.

If Liberty were to falter in the ASUN Tournament, the Flames would be squarely on the bubble and would have to sweat out the selection show. Liberty’s RPI is currently 38 with a 5-6 record against Quad 1 opponents, 5-4 in Quad 2 games, 10-4 in Quad 3 games, and 8-0 against Quad 4.

With just three regular season ASUN series remaining, the Flames will play Jacksonville this weekend with the series scheduled to begin on Friday at 2 p.m.
