According to Liberty Hockey’s twitter account, the 2020 ACHA National Tournament has been canceled, because of the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus. The ACHA has confirmed this news.
“The American Collegiate Hockey Association, the governing body for non-varsity college hockey in the United States, announced today that out of an abundance of caution due to public health concerns regarding coronavirus (COVID-19), it has canceled its upcoming 2020 National Championship Tournament.”
The Liberty University ACHA Division I men’s hockey team was ranked second in the nation and has been for several weeks was set to make its fourth straight trip to the ACHA DI National Championships and 12th appearance overall.
The ACHA DI Tournament was scheduled for March 29-24 at the Comerica Center in Frisco, Texas. The Flames (31-4) were seeded second at nationals and set to receive a first-round bye.
