Following his 181-yards receiving in Liberty’s 62-27 win over Hampon Saturday night, Liberty’s Antonio Gandy-Golden currently ranks first in all of FBS football in receiving yards with 544.
AGG entered week 4 in 5th place, and, despite only playing the first half plus one series in the second half, he vaults into the national lead. He is 60 yards ahead of second play, Sage Surratt of Wake Forest, who has 484 receiving yards.
He now has 2,962 career receiving yards, second most in school history. AGG needs just 209 yards to break the record set by Darrin Peterson from 2012-2015.
With his two touchdowns he scored against Hampton, AGG has tied Peterson for most career receiving touchdowns in school history with 27. He’s also 31 receptions from setting the school’s all-time reception mark, currently owned by Peterson at 215. Chris Summers is in second place with 188, just three receptions ahead of Antonio.
Gandy-Golden was named to the 2019 Biletnikoff Award Preseason Watch List this summer, marking the second straight season in which he has appeared on the watch list. The Biletnikoff Award annually recognizes the outstanding FBS receiver in college football.
