Conference play is well underway as we are now two full weeks into ASUN games. There is still a long way to go as we inch towards the stretch run. Here is our updated ASUN Power Rankings, based on games played through January 8.

1. Stetson #207 (9-6, 4-0)

The Hatters have been the surprise of the early conference season, currently standing alone atop the ASUN standings at 4-0 in conference play. Stetson picked up wins over Jacksonville and in overtime against North Alabama this week.
This week: 1/12 at Bellarmine, 1/14 at Eastern Kentucky
2. Liberty #70 (12-5, 3-1)

Liberty dispatched Jacksonville State by 34 points to open 3-0 in conference play and looked as they would once again be the top dog in the ASUN. Those good feelings and the unblemished record in league play came to an end Sunday afternoon when the Flames were just 4 of 23 from three and lost at Eastern Kentucky by three points.
This week: 1/12 vs North Alabama, 1/14 vs Central Arkansas
3. FGCU #115 (13-4, 3-1)

The Eagles lost at Austin Peay by two points on Thursday, but they quickly rebounded with an impressive 82-57 with over North Florida on Saturday. The Kentucky road trip awaits FGCU this week.

4. Eastern Kentucky #238 (10-7, 3-1)

Two big wins by EKU this week as they hang on to win two games by a combined five points. The Colonels knocked off Central Arkansas, 77-75, and outlasted Liberty for a three point win.
This week: 1/12 vs FGCU, 1/14 vs Stetson
5. Jacksonville #168 (9-6, 2-2)

The Dolphins split their two games this week, falling to Stetson, 73-61, and knocking off Lipscomb, 51-44. Jacksonville’s defense is good enough to keep them in most every game during conference play, but sometimes they struggle to find a rhythm on offense.
This week: 1/12 at Kennesaw State, 1/14 at Jacksonville State
6. Kennesaw State #200 (11-6, 3-1)

The Owls lost a tough game to North Florida on Thursday, but they responded with a nice road win at Queens on Saturday afternoon. KSU is now 3-1 in the ASUN and tied for second place in the conference as they host the two Jacksonville teams this coming week.

7. Austin Peay #226 (8-9, 2-2)

It was a really good week for Austin Peay who knocked off one of the best teams in the conference in FGCU and then followed that up with an 86-62 win over Central Arkansas. The Governors will take on Lipscomb twice this week.

8. Queens #199 (12-5, 2-2)

In a game against the two newest callups from Division II to the ASUN, Queens outlasted Bellarmine for a 75-74 win. The Royals would lose to Kennesaw State on Saturday as they prepare for two winnable games at home this week.

9. Bellarmine #261 (7-10, 2-2)

The Knights lost to Queens by one point but would bounce back with a 13 point win over last year’s NCAA Tournament ASUN representative Jacksonville State.

10. Lipscomb #211 (9-8, 1-3)

After starting 0-2 in league play, the Bisons finally got in the win column with an 86-62 win over North Alabama on Thursday. Lipscomb then traveled to Jacksonville and would fall to the Dolphins, 51-44.

11. North Florida #246 (7-9, 2-2)

The Ospreys split their two games this week, beating Kennesaw State by three before falling at FGCU, 82-57.

12. North Alabama #310 (9-8, 1-3)

Just a couple weeks ago, North Alabama was playing some really good basketball and had picked up a couple of nice wins. Now, they’ve dropped three straight following losses to Lipscomb and Stetson this week.

13. Central Arkansas #339 (5-12, 0-4)

Central Arkansas gave EKU a tough game, falling by just two points before also losing to Austin Peay.

14. Jacksonville State #297 (7-10, 0-4)

This is obviously not the same team we saw last year from Jacksonville State who won the regular season title and advanced to the NCAA Tournament. The Gamecocks have dropped their first four games of conference play, including games this week at Liberty and against Bellarmine.
