Apologies for not having the baseball weekly round-up the past two weeks as we were tied up with the football spring game and realignment news. Player of the Week:
With so many games there are numerous worthy candidates, but we have chosen first baseman Alex Close who broke out against ODU on 4/24. Against the Monarchs Close was 3/6 with 6 RBIs, 2 runs, and a grand slam helping the Flames to a 17-10 victory over their in-state rival. Close continued his hot play with a solid weekend series against the Keydets going 5/13 with 6 RBIs, 3 runs, a double, and a homerun.
