Liberty started this week with yet another conference sweep, taking Longwood down by scores of 10-4, 8-5, and 6-1. The Flames are now 15-1 in the Big South and hold a conference win streak that goes back to the opening series with Campbell.

13862448534_dd9058fa0c_zIn only their fourth loss this season at home, the Flames lost to Virginia Tech in a tight contest, 4-3. Both Seiz and Yacyk hit balls out, but the Flames had a tough time getting much going outside of those two home runs.

Liberty began their conference weekend series a day earlier than usual this week, and were able to notch another Big South win behind a two run home run from Danny Grauer. Trey Lambert went the distance, yet again yesterday in the 5-1 victory, which has been a norm for the senior as of late.

Blake Fulgham and Parker Bean, who will be the starters tonight and tomorrow, were also able to record complete games in games 2 and 3 of the Longwood series. If the starters are able to make a habit of going 7+ innings, the Liberty bullpen would have a huge advantage down the stretch come tournament time.

Seiz got things started this week with a home run against Longwood in game 1. In game 2 against the Lancers, Seiz homered again, and then capped the series off with a three hit performance finale. Seiz then hit his third home run of the week in the Flames 4-3 loss to Virginia Tech.

Seiz is the Big South Conference leader in average, home runs, RBI, slugging percentage, and runs. He also ranks third nationally in slugging percentage, posting a .736.
