Week in Review:
The Flames appeared in their first NCAA Regional since 2000, and did not disappoint. Liberty won its opener over the #2 seed Clemson on Friday 8-3. After Saturday night’s disappointment against #1 seed South Carolina, the Flame Train rebounded nicely to eliminate Clemson on Sunday afternoon 3-1. The Gamecocks were able to hold on to the 6-4 victory over Liberty to advance to the super regionals.

Player of the Week:
Catcher Trey Wimmer
Wimmer was the Flames Captain and senior leader all season, and he did not disappoint in regional play. In Friday’s win over Clemson, Wimmer was 2/4 with 6 RBI’s including a double and a home run.
Next Up:
The 2013 Liberty baseball team is the first to win more than one game in NCAA play, and the first to advance to the regional final in school history. Looking forward to a terrific 2013 season!
