Quarterfinals
Game 1: #1S Charleston Southern vs #5S Winthrop
CSU controlled the game throughout to defeat Winthrop 54-47. The Buccaneers were led by Mathiang Muo’s 15 points and 11 boards. The talented CSU backcourt duo of Arlon Harper & Saah Nimley struggled as they combined to shoot 3/21 from the field, 1/10 from 3 for 18 points. Winthrop’s Joab Jerome followed up a solid outing in the 1st round Tuesday with 15 points against CSU to lead the Eagles.

Game 2: #2N VMI vs #6N Longwood
After leading by as many as 17, the Keydets were able to hold off a late Longwood surge to win 90-86. VMI was led by 3 players with 20+ points – Okoye, Covington, and Glasgow. Big South Player of the Year Stan Okoye finished with 31 points and 9 rebounds. Defensive Player of the Year D.J. Covington added 26 points, and Rodney Glasgow had 22 points and 6 assists. Longwood’s Michael Kessens had a Big South Conference Tournament record 36 points to go along with 15 rebounds.

Game 3: #2S Gardner-Webb vs #3N Campbell
Gardner-Webb continued their hot play as they defeated Campbell 71-57 to move onto the Semifinals. The Runnin’ Bulldogs have won 8 consecutive games and 11 of their past 12. All 5 of Gardner-Webb’s starters reach double figures led by Tashan Newsome with 15. Campbell was led by Andrew Ryan’s 17 points.

Game 4: #1N High Point vs #5N Liberty
The upstart Flames upset the #1 seed from the North High Point 61-60. Liberty led 39-22, and was able to hold off a late Panther charge to get the victory. Liberty was led by Tavares Speaks (17), Davon Marshall (16), and John Caleb Sanders (12) who all scored in double figures. Allan Chaney’s 17 points and 8 rebounds were not enough for High Point.
