After another week in the books, here’s our results from the Richmond contest.
After adding these scores to the leader board, msette has taken the lead, with spencers777 currently in place to win a FlamesNation t-shirt.
Now to make your picks for Appy State Week. Good Luck!
1. Josh Woodrum scores more rushing touchdowns than Taylor Lamb
Why this is bold- Lamb is currently averaging 44 rushing yards a game to Woodrum’s 25.
Why it will happen- Josh hasn’t let anything stop him from getting crucial rushing yardage in the past few games. He’ll get in the end zone at all costs.
2. Attendance will be less than that of the Liberty/Richmond game.
Why this is bold- The number to beat is 20,838. Appalachian State is currently averaging over 25,000 per game.
Why it will happen- At 1-4 the Mountaineers are off to a disappointing start to the year. Playing an FCS opponent won’t help things attendance wise, and I have a feeling it will be down on Saturday.
3. Dante Shells scores a 35+ yard reception touchdown.
Why this is bold- Shells is only averaging 45 yards per game, so it seems unlikely that he’ll get 35 yards on a single play and also score a touchdown.
Why it will happen- Shells has been getting open deep, but has had some problems reeling in the homerun ball. Hopefully he’s been working on his hands and will be able to make the big play if the opportunity presents itself against Appalachian State.
4. John Lunsford kicks a non-touchback on kickoffs(not including onside kicks).
Why this is bold- Legatron can pretty much kick it through the back of the end zone at will with his freakish powers.
Why it will happen- The Appy State returners will eventually get antsy. If Lunsford puts one in play, they may ill advisedly take it out.
5. Liberty O-line allows no sacks.
Why this is bold- This would be quite the accomplishment. Liberty has allowed seven sacks on the year while Appalachian State has six sacks on the year.
Why it will happen- The O-line has been solid this year, so give them a chance to earn you some points this week.
6. Liberty goes above 50% on 3rd down conversions.
Why this is bold- Liberty is 27% on third downs this year and 1 for 21 over the past two games.
Why it will happen- Despite our third down woes, there is no question that we have a good offense. I’m sure this has been a huge focus this week, and I think we’ll see results.
