2012-13: started all 36 games, 32.2 minutes, 13.6 points, 2.1 rebounds, 2.81 assists, 45% FG, 43% 3FG, 85% FT
Expectations for Davon will be through the roof after his record setting season, expect to him to be a 1st team all-conference performer. Biggest question surrounding Davon is will he be the primary ball-handler again or will someone step up so he can play off the ball?
John Caleb Sanders

2012-13: started 32 of 36 games, 30.2 minutes, 14.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, 3.64 assists, 43% FG, 36% 3FG, 78% FT
Sanders developed greatly during his junior campaign. He came into the year as a spot up 3 point shooter, but finished the year as the leading assist man. Expect JC to continue to develop and become the team’s point guard next season.
Casey Roberts

2012-13: started 11 of 36 games, 16.6 minutes, 5.4 points, 1.7 rebounds, 38% FG, 38% 3FG, 71% FT
Casey was impressive in his first season with the Flames. Although he is best suited to be a spot-up shooter coming off the bench, he will likely be the early season favorite to replace Tavares Speaks in the starting lineup.
Antwan Burrus

2012-13: Medical Redshirt
Man, will it be nice to have Burrus back. Antwan is a beast in the paint, and will fit in perfectly with the team. If healthy, he could be poised for an all-conference senior campaign. During his junior season, he averaged 11.2 points and 6.3 rebounds on 53% shooting. Add him to a lineup featuring snipers Marshall & Sanders? Scary.
JR Coronado

F
2012-13: started 32 of 36 games, 24.4 minutes, 4.9 points, 8.2 rebounds, 48% FG, 55% FT
Coronado was a steady post option for the Flames in 2012-13. He was one of the league leaders all season in rebounds. Expect JR to work on his offensive game, and increase his offensive production next season. Averaging a double-double will not be out of the ordinary next season.

2012-13: started 20 of 30 games, 23.3 minutes, 7.3 points, 4.5 rebounds, 39% FG, 31% 3FG, 76% FT
The Polish sensation could start on the wing if Layer intends on playing big, but Gielo is more suited as a stretch 4. Tomasz has shown flashes of being a go-to option on the offensive end he just needs to be more confident in his abilities.
Joel Vander Pol

C
2012-13: played in 26 games, 14 minutes, 4.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, 49% FG, 67% FT
The 5th year big man should play starter minutes in a crowded interior rotation. JVP provides length that the other bigs do not. He developed a solid post game this season to go along with his solid defense in the paint.
Andrew Smith

Junior
F
2012-13: started 9 of 36 games, 14.5 minutes, 3.5 points, 3.1 rebounds, 47% FG, 69% FT
Human highlight reel. As Smith prepares for his 3rd season, he needs to become more consistent. He is probably the most athletic player on the team, and has the skills to be an all-conference performer in the Big South. Drew could also see time starting on the wing when the Flames go big.
Ryan Kemrite

Kemrite comes in primarily known as a shooter. He should be expected to get some time off the bench on the wing, and he could develop into a starter as the season progresses.
Role Players
Chad Donley

R-Junior
G
2012-13: played in 31 games, 9.3 minutes, 2.8 points, 0.7 rebounds, 35% FG, 31% 3FG, 63% FT
As the season progressed, Donley fell behind Casey Roberts in the pecking order for minutes at guard. With nearly everyone returning, and the addition of another guard, Donley could be squeezed out of playing time all together.
Sommy Ogukwe
6’7″ 230
R-Junior
F
2012-13: played in 31 games, 7.2 minutes, 1.1 points, 1.7 rebounds, 55% FG, 50% FT
With so many experienced post players returning and with Burrus’ return, don’t expect Sommy’s role to increase.
Ethan Layer

Layer will see some time off the bench as a shooter.
Larry Taylor

Sophomore
G
2012-13: played in 26 games, 4.9 minutes, 0.5 points, 0.5 assists, 36% FG, 0/5 3FG, 2/8 FT
For a team that desperately needs a primary ballhander, true point guard Larry Taylor was unable to provide much production. Hopefully with a year of experience under his belt, he can develop into a trustworthy backup point guard that can provide 10-15 minutes of time. It is something this team desperately needs.

Another need for the team is a wing. Can Wes prove to be a solid contributor there?
