After originally announcing the school would continue with classes as normal following spring break, Liberty University President Jerry Falwell, Jr. now says the school will move classes online.
“In light of Governor Ralph Northam’s emergency ban on public gatherings of 100 people, (Liberty) will transition most of its residential classes to an online digital format starting Monday, March 23,” the announcement stated.
Liberty is still allowing residential students to return to Lynchburg where most will be able to resume their classes in the online format, or the residential students can choose to remain where they are and complete their classes online.
The school’s residence halls and dining services will remain open during this time.
College for a weekend on April 2-5 is also canceled.
Practices for NCAA and club sports teams will be decided sport-by-sport. Spring football practice is still scheduled to resume next week following spring break, but with this new development that could change.
