Liberty redshirt-sophomore center Brendan Newton will transfer from the program, first reported by Verbal Commits. He is a grad transfer and will have two seasons of eligibility remaining.
Newton is a 7’2″ big man and fan favorite from Roanoke, Virginia and Faith Christian School. He played in 30 career games including 8 this season with a career average of 1.7 points and 1.1 rebounds per game while playing in 3.2 minutes per game.
With Newton and Keegan McDowell’s departures, Liberty now has two scholarships available for next season.
