Yesterday we began our look by the numbers by examining Coastal’s offense against Liberty’s defense, today we take a look at Liberty’s offense against Coastal’s defense.
Liberty has had an average passing attack this season, the Flames rank 57th in the FCS with 220 yards passing per game. The Chanticleers haven’t been much better stopping the pass. Coastal is 43rd in the country allowing just over 200 yards passing per game.
Both teams have been pretty mediocre at rushing and stopping the run as well. Coastal ranks 68th in the country allowing 177 yards rushing per game; the Flames are 59th in the country at 162 yards rushing per game.
Both Coastal and Liberty excel in the red zone on both sides of the ball. The Flames’ offense is 14th in the country at scoring in the red zone 90% of the time. The Chanticleers’ defense is equally impressive in the red zone. Coastal ranks 7th in FCS allowing their opponents to score just 66.7% of the time they reach the red zone.
Liberty’s offense has scored 34 points per game so far which ranks #31 in the country. Coastal’s defense has given up 22 points per game which is good for 29th in the country.
