Liberty alum Caleb Homesley has been selected as a 2020 Professional Basketball Combine honoree.
Homesley is one of 24 NCAA selections by PBC. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 event will not be held as usual at Mamba Sports Academy.
The Professional Basketball Combine is a secondary draft combine “designed to give players an opportunity to showcase their talents in hope of being selected to play professional basketball.”
Past PBC selections include Antonio Blakeney and Kendrick Nunn. The PBC website states its alumni account for 10+ two-way contract players, 40+ NBA Summer League invites, 35+ G League Contracts, and 1 G League Rookie of the Year.
At Liberty, Homesley finished his career with 1,539 points, 703 rebounds, 306 assists, 122 steals, and 78 blocks. During his career, he has been named to the ASUN First-Team All-Conference in 2019 and 2020, the ASUN All-Tournament Team in 2019 and 2020, the ASUN Tournament MVP in 2020, and the ASUN Player of the Year in 2020.
The 2020 NBA Draft is currently scheduled to be held on November 18, 2020 where Homesley looks to be the first Liberty basketball player selected in the NBA Draft since 1985 when Cliff Webber was taken in the 4th round.
