Liberty cornerback Chris Turner will be transferring, according to multiple sources.
Turner, a redshirt-junior, was a second-team All Big South selection in both 2015 and 2016 totaling 7 interceptions during his 2 years on the gridiron with the Flames. He was prepared to be the team’s 4th leading tackler to return after recording 37 tackles as a sophomore in 2016. He started 17 of the team’s 22 games that he played in.
He becomes the 6th member of Liberty’s football team to transfer since the close of the spring football season, joining defensive linemen DeCarlo Hamilton, Will Brown, and Javon Frazier, quarterback/running back Stephon Masha, and cornerback Tyrin Holloway.
On April 5, 2017, Turner was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor, according to online court records.
