#25 Liberty currently has 9-1 record, and #14 Coastal Carolina is undefeated, with a 9-0 record. Both teams recently made the switch from Football Championship Subdivison (FCS) to Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS), as Coastal Carolina joined in 2017 and Liberty joined in 2018.
Liberty and Coastal Carolina have previous history playing in 2014, most notably, Liberty winning the FCS Big South Conference championship against Coastal Carolina in 2014, 15-14. The all-time series is knotted at 7 games a piece. This game will look to rekindle the FCS rivalry in these schools’ first matchup both as FBS members.
