Liberty begins the final push towards signing day next month with a commitment from Johnny Huntley III. Huntley is a 6’3″, 220 pound wide receiver who will be transferring to the Flames from Colorado.
Huntley spent the past two seasons with the Buffaloes, appearing in 13 games as a true freshman in 2016, while spending most of his playing time on special teams to go along with one reception for 14 yards. This past season, he saw playing time almost primarily on special teams.
He commits to Liberty while spending the weekend in Lynchburg on an official visit. Huntley is originally from Flor Lauderdale, Florida where he attended South Plantation High School. As a senior, he recorded 55 receptions for 940 yards and 12 touchdowns.
Coming out of high school, Huntley was a 3 star prospect with offers from numerous schools including Syracuse, Appalachian State, Bowling Green, Cincinnati, FIU, FAU, Indiana, Kentucky, Lousiville, Purdue, Rutgers, TCU, Temple, Tennessee, USF, Washington, West Virginia, and Western Kentucky.
