Liberty hosts Army for its final game of the regular season on Saturday at Williams Stadium in Lynchburg, VA. It is only the second meeting between the two schools and first time in school history that Liberty has hosted the Black Knights. Army played Liberty for the first time in 2018 at West Point and beat the Flames 38-14, in Liberty’s inaugural season in the FBS.
The Knights are 7-3 this season and are currently on a three game winning streak. Army brings a dangerous running attack to Lynchburg this week as the Knights have rushed for over 3,000 yards this year and are averaging 35 points a game behind their well-known triple option attack. Defensively, the Knights are ranked right behind Liberty in total defense at 15th in the nation. The line for this game is currently Liberty -3.
Key Players for Army:
QB – Christian Anderson and Tyhier Tyler both run the football. Anderson has 513 yards rushing on the season with 6 touchdowns and Tyler has 424 yards rushing. Anderson has been in and out of the lineup much of the year as he has dealt with injuries. He was back on the field this past week for Army against UMass.
RB – Tyrell Robinson has 560 yards rushing.
*ARMY has a total of 40 rushing touchdowns on the season.
LB – Arik Smith has 58 tackles on the season.
LB- Andre Carter, 13.5 sacks and he just set the single season record at Army.
