The 2020 Cure Bowl between No. 23 Liberty (9-1) and No. 12 Coastal Carolina (11-0) is being moved to a prime time game with kickoff now scheduled for 7:30 pm Saturday, Dec. 26 from Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida. The game was originally scheduled for noon.
The Chanticleers are currently 5.5 point favorites as the former Big South rivals are set to renew their rivalry. Coastal is 11-0 and were named co-champions of the Sun Belt after their conference championship game was canceled due to COVID concerns at Coastal. Saturday’s game will be the 15th meeting between the two schools with the overall series tied at 7.
Liberty has not played a game since Friday, Nov. 27 when the Flames shut out UMass. The Flames and Chanticleers were expected to meet in Conway, South Carolina on Dec. 5 before Liberty saw an uptick in positive COVID cases and had to pause team activities.
Athlon Sports has ranked the Cure Bowl as the No. 7 must watch bowl game, only trailing the New Year’s Six bowl games.
