Darius McGhee, who has just concluded his collegiate career at Liberty, is set to participate in multiple all-star events as part of the festivities surrounding the Final Four in Houston this week.

McGhee has been selected to compete in the TaxAct Men’s 3-point championship for the 34th annual State Farm College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships which will be at the Bayou Music Center in downtown Houston Thursday. He is one of eight players selected for the event that will air live on ESPN2 at 7:30 p.m. Eastern.

Additionally, McGhee has also been invited to compete in the State Farm College Team Skills and 3X3U Championships on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. ESPN2 will air the event on Sunday, April 2 at 9 p.m. Eastern. A new event this year, the State Farm College Team Skills & 3X3U Championships will feature a roster of graduating college seniors competing in a variety of competitions including team shootouts, skills relays and 3×3 basketball.

McGhee has also been chosen to play in the 2023 NABC Reese’s Division I College All-Star Game which will be held on Friday at 4:30 p.m. Eastern at NRG Stadium in Houston. The game will be broadcast live on CBS Sports Network. McGhee will be part of the West All-Stars and coached by Texas A&M head coach Buzz Williams. Newly named Iona coach Tobin Anderson will lead the East All-Stars.

McGhee, a 5’9″ guard from Roxboro, North Carolina, spent five seasons at Liberty. He was named a 2022-23 Associated Press All-American honorable mention. He currently ranks No. 2 in NCAA history with 528 career three-pointers made, led the country this season with a program-record 162 made threes. He is a finalist for both the 2022-23 Lute Olson National Player of the Year and Lou Henson National Player of the Year.

McGhee was named ASUN Player of the Year three straight seasons as he set the Liberty and ASUN all-time scoring record, finishing with 2,685 career points.
