Jamey Chadwell and Liberty have concluded the December Early Signing Period, which resulted in the signing of 13 scholarship athletes on Wednesday. For more information be sure to check out our Signing Day Live Blog and also hear everything that Coach Chadwell had to say about the signing class.

Here are a few notes/thoughts on the class:

  1. The class is ranked No. 83 by Rivals, the highest rated recruiting class in school history.
  2. The signees came from 8 different states: Virginia, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee had two each while Alabama and Louisiana had one.
  3. The class included seven mid-year enrollees and eight three-star prospects as ranked by 247Sports.
  4. The Flames’ newcomers include four defensive linemen, three offensive linemen, a cornerback, linebacker, quarterback, running back, safety, and tight end.
  5. Looking ahead, the Flames have several openings in the class looking ahead to the February signing day and the transfer portal. Offensive line will be a priority in that class, as will quarterback, running back, wide receiver, linebacker, safety, and corner.
