Former Liberty wide receiver Demario Douglas spent the past week in Indianapolis, Indiana where he was able to showcase his skills at the 2023 NFL Combine in front of NFL scouts and team representatives.
After a strong week of practice at the East West Shrine Bowl earlier, Douglas has seen his draft stock increase. He did the same during his time at the Combine. During his on the field workouts on Saturday, he made a number of standout plays.
Douglas ran a 4.44 40-yard dash, 1.54 10-yard split, 4.29 20-yard shuttle, had a 39.5″ vertical, and 11’2″ broad jump (ranked 2nd among WRs). For his performance, Douglas was named honorable mention all-combine team at wide receiver.
During his career at Liberty, Douglas hauled in 172 passes for 2,193 yards and 17 touchdowns. He also carried the ball 7 times for 109 yards and a score. Douglas was also Liberty’s primary punt returner during his collegiate days, finishing his career with 55 punt returns for 383 yards and two touchdowns.
Douglas has seen his draft projections range from the 4th round to a 6th-7th round pick to this point. The NFL Draft begins April 27.
Some bigger WRs ran well & helped themselves with the agility drills, but generally 13 guys running 4.55 or worse isn’t great, after what we’ve seen so far.

Demario Douglas, the WR out of Liberty, was very impressive today at the #NFLCombine2023. He was quick throughout his routes and caught everything thrown his way. For only being 5’8, his catch radius was surprisingly wide. He should be moving up boards after this performance.
