Rising senior Des Rice will miss the 2014 football season due to a knee injury he suffered recently. He underwent surgery to repair the knee on Tuesday. Rice has a redshirt season available and could return in 2015. Last season Rice burst onto the season earning All-Big South second-team honors after rushing for 967 yards and 16 touchdowns.
Junior D.J. Abnar is currently listed as starting running back. Abnar rushed for 411 yards and 6 touchdowns while catching 8 passes out of the backfield for 102 yards a season ago.
