In a four-person prediction panel predicting the winners of each 2023 conference tournament, ESPN’s Myron Medcalf, Jeff Borzello, John Gasaway, and Joe Lunardi all made their picks for the 2023 ASUN Tournament.
Three of the four (Medcalf, Borzello and Lunardi) picked Liberty to win the ASUN for a fourth season out of five years. Gasaway picked Kenensaw State, who has home court throughout the tournament, to win.
Liberty, as the No. 2 seed, will open ASUN Tournament play on Tuesday night at 7 pm at Liberty Arena. The Flames, who received a first round bye, will play the winner of Bellarmine-North Florida who play Monday night at Liberty Arena.
Kennesaw State, the No. 1 seed, will play the winner of Queens and FGCU in the quarterfinals. Meanwhile, Stetson, the No. 4 seed, will play Lipscomb and No. 3 Eastern Kentucky faces North Alabama. If the top four seeds advance to the semifinals, the Owls and Hatters will meet while Liberty will play 3-seed Eastern Kentucky.
The entire ASUN Tournament will be played on campus sites as the higher seeds each play on their home court every game with the exception of Monday night’s first round games. Following Monday’s first round, all quarterfinal games will be played on Tuesday. The semifinals get underway Thursday. The championship game is scheduled for Sunday, March 5 at 3 pm on ESPN 2.
