Sophomore forward Evan Maxwell was spotted at the campus bookstore this afternoon visiting with La Salle head coach John Giannini. Liberty head coach Ritchie McKay announced the big man’s intent to transfer at the end of the 2015-2016 academic year in a press release last Tuesday. If Maxwell does decide to transfer to the Atlantic 10 Conference, he will be required to sit out the 2016-17 season unless a hardship waiver is applied for and granted.
The 6’10” center finished the 2015-16 season 2nd on the team in points averaging 10 points per game. He was also 2nd on the team in rebounds with 4.8 per game and led the team in field goal percentage, shooting 63.7% from the floor. Maxwell had 4 20-point games on the year, including a career-high 24 points at Radford on December 3rd.
