With the December signing period, Liberty’s coaching staff was able to lock up the majority of the 2020 signing class early, but there’s still a few spots open as the traditional signing day approaches.
The February signing period opens Wednesday.
VERBALS
The only prospect expected to make things official and sign on Wednesday is CB Quinton Reese. Reese is a 3-star prospect who had a number of offers including Akron, Austin Peay, Ball State, Boston College, Coastal Carolina, Georgia State, Miami (OH), Northern Illinois, Troy, Western Kentucky, and Western Michigan. He finished his 2019 senior season by being named the 4A Defensive Player of the Year for North Fulton as well as being selected to the AJC All-State and All-Metro teams.
Additionally, tight end Trevor Hobbs joined the 2020 class and enrolled at Liberty and is on campus for the spring semester
The Flames also have commitments from WR Mike James, Jr and DE Stephen Sings. As we have alluded to previously, both could still end up on campus this summer and into the fall pending their academic situation. Neither will count towards the 25 scholarship limit for this class.
PROSPECTS
JUCO LB and JMU bounceback KeShaun Lance Moore visited Liberty a week ago, but he is not expected to sign with the Flames. Also, JUCO corner Kyle Cass had recently visited Liberty and then went to Mississippi State this past weekend. He is not expected to sign with Liberty this week either as he committed to Mississippi State Tuesday night.
