Coach McKay and his staff are back on the recruiting trail and have offered scholarships to two high school juniors, Issac McBride and Pierce Hellums.
McBride is a 6’1″ point guard from Little Rock, Arkansas where he attends the Baptist Preparatory School. He also has offers from UAB, Abilene Christian, and Arkansas Little Rock. He’s been ranked as the 3rd best prospect in the class of 2019 in the state of Arkansas.
Hellums is a 6’2″ point guard from Tomball, Texas where he attends Condordia Lutheran High School where he averaged 20.5 points, 4.2 assists, 4.0 rebounds, and 3.5 steals per game as a junior. Liberty is his first Division I offer.
The Flames have one scholarship remaining for the 2018-19 roster, but Coach McKay has said he could hold on to that scholarship for the following class. Liberty will have two seniors graduating next year in guards Lovell Cabbil and incoming graduate transfer Keenan Gumbs.
