For the second straight day, Liberty has picked up a commitment from 757 prospect. On Friday, Karon Prunty, a 6’2″, 190 pound corner from Portsmouth, Virginia pledge to the Flames.
Prunty chose Liberty over offers from Tennessee, Temple, Charlotte, Marshall, and several FCS schools including Richmond and William & Mary. He attends I.C. Norcom High School from the fertile 757 recruiting grounds that Coach Freeze has made a priority since arriving in Lynchburg. He took an official visit to Liberty during the Syracuse game.
Prunty announced his commitment from his high school Friday afternoon, giving thanks to his family and coaches. In front of a crowded room while standing, Prunty took his sweatshirt off to reveal an orange University of Tennessee t-shirt as the crowd erupted in cheers. Prunty then gave a motion with his hands as if to say he wasn’t done, he then removed the Tennessee shirt and revealed a navy blue shirt with “FLAMES” written across the chest. Watch the video below:

Prior to the senior season, Prunty was ranked as the #10 prospect in the 757 region. He is the first corner to commit in the class of 2020 which continues to grow. Prunty is the 24th verbal in the class, after Gabe Fuster’s commitment and Enoch Howard’s de-commitment on Thursday.
