Georgie Pacheco
Puerto Rico
Deep Run High
Guard
6’2″ 170 lbs
Class of 2016
Pacheco committed to Liberty on Wednesday. He also had a Division I offer from Marist. He also competes on the U17 Puerto Rican national team. Phenom Hoop Report described him this way: “Each time out it seems Pacheco gets better and better, becoming a more complete player. Not only does Pacheco possess a high basketball IQ, but he also plays very tough-minded. Pacheco’s Camp Coach __ stated, “Georgie’s ball handling, shooting, and defense is quickly becoming uncanny. He has a nose for the ball, and on a court full of athlete’s he gets to a lot of 50/50 balls. I am certain he will play great basketball beyond high school and is a joy to coach.” What Pacheco lacks in athleticism, he makes up for in “want to”.” Oh, and we certainly like his announcement…

The scholarship numbers for 2017 get even further off with this committ. We need a minimum of 2 departures from the current roster to sign the 3 committs we already have plus Newton. That does NOT include the walkons who were awarded schollies this year.
I see the profile was chances to show Pacheco as a 2016 commit, which is what verbalcommits has as well. We have a schollie for him, but my comment on the numbers not adding up for 2017 still applies.
